A Princely sum raised by Golfers in Sandwich!

One of Kent’s most prestigious golf courses, Princes in Sandwich, was the venue for the Rotary Club of Sandwich’s Annual Golf Day on Friday 9th May.
Over 70 golfers played the championship links course to help raise funds for Canterbury Oast Trust and Pilgrims Hospice. A challenge for even the professional golfer, players set out on an 18 hole round taking in the Shore course for the first 9 holes, followed by the Dunes.
Despite a few very close shots on the par 3’s, nobody managed a hole in one - and the chance to take home a brand new Mini!
The days' Golf was followed by Dinner in the Princes clubhouse and prize giving. A magnificent auction of items donated by local people and companies finished off activities. The day raised over £5,000 for the charities.
Gill Gibb, CEO of Canterbury Oast Trust said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have the Rotary’s support. With over 60 families on our waiting list we need funding urgently to enable us to extend support to more people with learning disability. We have very limited resources ourselves so we rely heavily on groups like the Rotary to organise events like this for us”.
