ART ON THE FARM

Published: 4 June 2013

A large fine art exhibition and sale will be on show at the Rare Breeds Centre this weekend on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th June. The exhibition has been organised by the Rotary Club of Tenterden in conjunction with Canterbury Oast Trust.  A percentage of the sales of the artworks will raise funds for local charities including Canterbury Oast Trust, a charity supporting adults with learning disability and which runs the Rare Breeds Centre.

Many exciting and innovative works are in the exhibition, all of which are on sale, with prices ranging from £25 - £700. Subjects and styles offer something for everyone, from traditional to contemporary and abstract. Many of the works have been inspired by the countryside and seascapes of Kent and Sussex. For example, visitors will be able to enjoy ‘Essence of Hastings’, a sculpture in cast iron as well as an acrylic painting ‘St Mary’s in the Marsh’ and an oil entitled ‘Sheep, Warehorne’.

In all, twenty artists will be showing their work, all of whom live and work locally and have exhibited throughout London and the South East. Their work includes drawings, paintings, prints, pottery and sculpture in a variety of media.

The art exhibition is open Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th June, 10.30am – 4.30pm each day, with free admission.
