CANTERBURY OAST TRUST SAYS THANK YOU TO ITS MANY VOLUNTEERS

On the 2ND June, Gill Gibb, Chief Executive of the Canterbury Oast Trust hosted a lunch at the Trust’s Falcons Conference Centre for over 90 of the volunteers that help out across the charity, which includes the ever popular Rare Breeds Centre. The charity benefits from the dedicated help of over 160 individual volunteers and over 30 groups of volunteers from local employers who undertake roles as diverse as mucking out pigs to taking residents to church, from weeding the patio  to building a new attraction in our Discovery Garden!

Sally Balzan, a volunteer for over four years at the Trust, summed up the event ‘it was brilliant to be recognised for my input into the work of the charity- I regularly volunteer selling entry tickets and working in our shop , often over busy weekend periods and we are rushed off our feet! It was great to sit down, enjoy the fabulous food made by the catering team and chat with my fellow volunteers.’

Gill Gibb, the CEO, continues ‘ to be able to say thank you formally to all our great volunteers is important- we couldn’t do our work without them.’

To volunteer for the charity please call us on 01233 861519 and speak to Jo Booth.
