The Legendary Route Day 4

Supposed to be an easier day but fighting glasgow traffic at rush hour for 10 miles and then climbing 1900 feet in the next 20 miles took its toll. We then joined a straight road parallel to the M74 which was in really poor condition and the ruts really hurting the knees. All with a strong headwind and light rain. Glad to be in. England (see the photo) at Carlisle racecourse and a warm tent.

James also cycled all day with a new friend, Kelly Sotherton!

Tomorrow will be the same with regard to the wind with headwinds up to 30 mph gusts. A difficult day ahead with 120 miles to our campsite at Aintree.

The wind and rutted surface shows in the stats.
