The Legendary Route Day 7

Laying in our tents listening to the rain at Wincanton race track and thinking about the day. Simply, the most exhausting and challenging day of our lives but one finished with great satisfaction.

A poor start with a puncture and shoe attachment problem meant we were delayed but the ride down into the Wye Valley was lovely. However, we then hit two enormous hills steeper than anything in Scotland. We recover at the first pit stop but after passing through Bristol hit the most unbelievable hill. Steeper and longer than Box Hill used for the Olympics we managed not to walk up as many did. You'd struggle to walk up it was that hard and the spinning lessons proved valuable!

The hills continued all the way but we enjoyed crossing the Clifton Suspense Bridge (photo) and the countryside was lovely. Alson strange hearing a Bristolian accent when we were listening to Glaswegians 4 days ago!

Stats of the day show how it’s the hardest day!:
